Koyokai Kendo now operating in Portage, Michigan, Warren, Michigan and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Portage and Warren locations now open for socially distanced training. Portage location is accepting new students.
Koyokai Kendo is a small Kendo organization that practices Kendo in the state of Michigan in the United States. Founded in 2014 by combining the members of the Battle Creek Kendo Kai and Grand Rapids Kendo Kai. Koyokai conducts practices in two locations:

Koyokai Kendo practices the Japanese art of Kendo based on the teachings of Douglas Tamaichi Funamoto Sensei (d. 2001 Kiyoshi 7th Dan).

Kendo the right way. Koyokai Kendo operates under the strict expectations of the International Kendo Governing Body (FIK), the All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF) and the Midwest Kendo Federation (MWKF).
